I have hacked a servo and have it working as a proportional control for its motor, i'd like to be able to drive far bigger loads with this - is the motor speed controlled by PWM? if so can I connect motor leads to a high current H bridge ( via a diode network to pulse the 2 different pins dependant on the polarity of input power )

Here is an external bridge hack that will allow you to drive monster sized motors from the servo's existing motor leads: http://www.webcom.co...kwrks/servo.jpg

While there, you should check out the fellow's custom R/C lawnmowers.

you are a genius ! this is perfect :)
slightly confused, it gives input from servo as:

gnd
L1 input
L2 input

should I form these using diodes?
or is this a direct + & - from the servo controller board?

According to his schematic, L1 and L2 go to the old motors leads (remove motor, connect leads to this new bridge, connect power). I have never used the circuit, but it looks fine to me.

will see how I go.. - the output to the servo motor pulses not a variable voltage then?

works :), servo output isn't well proportioned though - full throttle is attained at about 20% stick...
