Attention: RC-CAM.com will permanently shut down on August-08-2021.

The RC-Cam.com forum was the very first online community dedicated to the advancement of wireless video cameras on radio controlled (R/C) models. This is now called "FPV" (First Person View). We are proud of the contributions that our members have made to the FPV hobby.

We've seen significant changes over the last twenty years. Initially there were a lot of eager R/C hobbyist that built their own video systems. Allowing these creative individuals to share their work was the purpose of this site. Now the FPV market is flooded with low cost systems; Sadly DiY FPV video projects are now rarely discussed.

RC-CAM.com (main site and forum) will be closing down August 2021. This was announced several months ago (March 2021) to allow our members ample time to download any information that is important to them. After the site is shutdown the information will no longer be available here.

We appreciate every member's involvement with advancing the FPV hobby. It is indeed sad to say goodbye to all our online friends. Be safe and stay healthy.

  1. We apologize for this inconvenience, we were experiencing problems with our e-mail module, few people tried to reach us through the site and it did not work for weeks, we worked hard on that issue. Now we have a new site, totally redesigned, Hobbywireless now has more FPV R/C looking, and user friendly modules, check it out www.HobbyWireless.com Cheers, Wilson-Hobby Wireless Team
  2. Nice Video Helitron !!! I enjoied, and what beautiful plane is the Cularis. Keep doing the good work.
  3. Great Job !!!! I was thinking about doing something, now I know for sure it is possible!!!
  4. Well done JMS, I like your sense of humor on your videos, very funny !!!! Keep doing the good work. :-)
  5. That was funny It's a small world, I wish I could have time to go to Canada and fly together, it would be very fun, and funny. Maybe one of this days The time will come, when we all will be able to have our own FPV air show in North America, I can not wait for that, when that happens I hope still have some strengh to hold my Transmitter and fly
  6. Nice video rob10000, Unfortunately in my town most is hard to find someone that flys electrics, I want to find another FPVers to fly together, but they all saying it's against the AMA rules, and I am an AMA member, and if my plan cause any someones property damage AMA will not cover it, and bla-bla-bla-bla. I use to say yeah, you are totally right, you might loose the control of an easy star and hit a family's house and kill the whole family with it, or even burn the entire neighborhood with the explosion of your easystar !!! Unbelievable, the AMA can cover the demage caused by a 33% scale gasser plane, but they do not want cover a foamy easystar, just because we are not looking to the airplane, but from it !!! I understand your problem Denis, next time tell those guys they need to find a real hobby Let's forget about this kind stuff, let's talk about FPV flights. Here is another FPV fligh in a windy day (last sunday) with my EXTRA 300. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=0Y8TS15A
  7. Ooooops, you are right Wavess, I don't know why I said it. What I wanted to say is, with the dihedral wings, you an easy level flight. Hey Denis, it's nice to see you around. Yep, I agree things about FPV are going faster, even the planes are not only the slow flyers anymore I was woking on my extra to make it ready for aerobatics, I finished the dashboard and everything else. Then a bad weather came, and for days I could not fly it. Few days later I saw the video with your CAP 232 and the dashboard very similar .... except for thepilot arms and legs By the way where did you get that picture for your dashboard??? That was a big surprise for me. What happen to your youtubes videos?
  8. Hey JMS, I thought you already had one!? But, you do not have, you will love it !!! If you have any questions, just ask, If I am not able to give the answer, for sure someone here will do. Do not forget to share your video with us whenever you make one. :-)
  9. Wavess, I know the wing tips can be flatten, but the tips work like dihedral wings, and the main purpose is to keep the airplane more stable even in a windy day. So, for a panoramic flight, it's perfect to have those tips upwards, if the CG is well set, and the airplane is nicely trimmed, just give it some throttle and enjoy de view !!! But, if the purpose is not panoramic flight, then flattning the wing tips would not be a problem at all. But thanks for sharing the trick Wavess. BTW where are your FPV videos man? Since the topic is FPV videos here is one... Saludos !!!
  10. I do not know why people are so exciting about RC spectrum 2.4Ghz, system, because the use 2.4ghz band has a shorter range and it is a crowed band. If it was a great system it should scan for a free channel, and filter the signal for that channel only. So, I don't know if the 2.4Ghz is better than 72Mhz which is more powerful and go through obstacles better than 2.4Ghz band. Let's see what happen.
  11. Geeee, sorry about your loss. Well, to tell you the truth, I put ailerons on my Easystar but I did not like it much, it acts wierd some times, first it was not designed for ailerons, and second the wing tips going upwards fights with the ailerons try to keep the airplane on level. But one thing I have done on my easystar, I made the rudder bigger, at least twice beigger, and that's for sure is needed. I still have both ailerons and bigger rudder on my easystar, but most of the time I make turns mixing both, and much more rudder than ailerons. Happy FPV flight, and keep your eyes on the fish, but never forget about the to look at cat. Take care
  12. Dang !!!! What did happen Hartwig ??? Man by the speed your plane came down, I can imagine the demage !!!! I can tell you had an interference for sure, because your camera servo moves very fast downwards, and then you start to dive.
  13. Very nice video BeachyFrancois, and colorful too !!!
  14. Hey Wavess it's nice to see you around Thanks for the complements. To tell the truth it was not hard to do at all, maybe because I want to do it so bad, that made it easier, some manuevers are more beautiful to be seen from the ground, just few manuevers are nice from inside of plane, like the flat spin. But let me tell you one thing. It's an awesome experience, but watch for three big things. - One is your altitude, the second is your position (to know where home is, to bring your plane back) and the third is: Do not eat too much before you go fly aerobatics!!! I did not get sick, but a friend of mine just got sick watching the video at home. Anyhow make yourself ready and go do it. Saludos desde el otro lado del charco !!!
  15. [JMS: Thanks !!! I did everything in a little bit of rush, because it takes hours to do it as it should be done. Hey Daniel, Thanks !!!! It's nice to see you around here, Your system has been shipped out already, I hope you receive it very soon, keep us posted !!! My Extra 300E is an electric plane 45" inches 115 centimeters wing spam, about 15-20 minutes of flight time using 11.1v 2200mAh lipo. It's a great aircraft. You can find more information about it here. http://www.extremeflightrc.com/ Take care
