Attention: RC-CAM.com will be closing down August 2021.

The RC-Cam.com forum was the very first online community dedicated to the advancement of wireless video cameras on radio controlled (R/C) models. This is now called "FPV" (First Person View). We are proud of the contributions that our members have made to the FPV hobby.

We've seen significant changes over the last twenty years. Initially there were a lot of eager R/C hobbyist that built their own video systems. Allowing these creative individuals to share their work was the purpose of this site. Now the FPV market is flooded with low cost systems; Sadly DiY FPV video projects are now rarely discussed.

RC-CAM.com (main site and forum) will be closing down August 2021. This is being announced now (March 2021) so that everyone has time to download any information that is important to them. After the site is shutdown the information will no longer be available here.

We appreciate every member's involvement with advancing the FPV hobby. It is indeed sad to say goodbye to all our online friends. Be safe and stay healthy.

  1. It was put in an envelope with 3 sheets of information so no tracking info. It should have arrived 3 or 4 days after I mailed it, it was sent to an Oregon address if I recall correctly.
  2. I apologize Ninja but I have been very busy. Your board did go out the day after I received payment as you know, maybe you can pass it on to someone else or if you want send it back and I'll refund.
  3. I used 3d hubs to have my parts made and was overall satisfied since then I've bought my own printer.
  4. Thor, Sorry for the late reply, been sick. I offer a bare buffer circuit board and a bill of materials list with Mouser p/n's and a schematic . To populate the circuit board requires advanced soldering skills The information needed to complete the mod is contained in the thread. I modded the SE version Headplays, I can't say for sure but I don't think there is much difference between the v1 and v2 Headplays from a modding standpoint. Paypal me $4.75 and I'll send you a board with the documentation. pp is luckyflyer@valornet.com
  5. I don't know why you have not received yours it was mailed in a white business sized envelope, I will mail you another one tomorrow. I will mail to the address you gave me in the pm which is the address I mailed the first one to. Thanks, Mark
  6. Today I managed to finish up on the Headplay diversity mod. The final assembly was pretty easy. I did need to make a small relief in the foam for the 2 470 uf capacitors on the buffer board, they were pressing on the foam more than I comfortable with. Also the foam needs to be relieved on the inside for the bracket the 5 mounting screws go into and because of the length of the 4 front mounting screws a pretty hefty press is needed to start them into the brass inserts. The top one is no problem and some of the screw protrudes through the insert and requires cutting. I'm seeing a small amount o
  7. Progress on the Headplay SE diversity mod. The cover is populated, wired and ready for install onto the Headplays. The rolled red wires are connections not used on the recorder. I was not able to use the header and plug on the receiver because of interference with the recorder bracket so I hard wired it. And it turns out that the push button hole on the side does not need to be elongated, it was a perfect fit.
  8. Jdoyle, The red board is a bare board, I provide a bom with Mouser P/N's. I would say that who ever populates this board need to be highly skilled with a soldering iron and have a steady hand and good eyesight or a good magnifier. I've been derailed on finishing up on my Headplay se's for a few days so I can't completely confirm but it is my understanding that the only difference is that there is no output to an external monitor. Mr RC-Cam would be better suited to answer those questions
  9. I received my printed parts today and want to let Hippy and Kingdon know that for my buffer circuit board to fit the case the switch hole will need to be elongated about 1/4" toward the bottom. If this is an issue I will refund your money. Thanks, Mark
  10. My paypal is luckyflyer@valornet.com I can put one in an envelope and mail it to you so just ad the cost of a stamp to the $4.75. Geez I don't even know how much a stamp is lol.
  11. Ok, here is the really small buffer circuit boards that I will use to convert my Headplay se goggles to diversity. This version does not have the optional video monitor output. The board is tested and working, I'm now waiting on the printed plastic parts to arrive which should be this week. There will need to be 2 small standoffs epoxied in the area where the board goes to support the circuit board. I will have 8 circuit boards that I can sell that includes the BOM (bill of materials) for $4.75 + shipping if anyone would like one.
  12. I have redrawn the artwork so boards will fit, should have boards in about 10 days.
  13. Any extra space in the area where it goes or does the board fill the whole space?
