Attention: RC-CAM.com will permanently shut down on August-08-2021.

The RC-Cam.com forum was the very first online community dedicated to the advancement of wireless video cameras on radio controlled (R/C) models. This is now called "FPV" (First Person View). We are proud of the contributions that our members have made to the FPV hobby.

We've seen significant changes over the last twenty years. Initially there were a lot of eager R/C hobbyist that built their own video systems. Allowing these creative individuals to share their work was the purpose of this site. Now the FPV market is flooded with low cost systems; Sadly DiY FPV video projects are now rarely discussed.

RC-CAM.com (main site and forum) will be closing down August 2021. This was announced several months ago (March 2021) to allow our members ample time to download any information that is important to them. After the site is shutdown the information will no longer be available here.

We appreciate every member's involvement with advancing the FPV hobby. It is indeed sad to say goodbye to all our online friends. Be safe and stay healthy.

  1. I was using I theater hr goggles and picture was bad almost like over saturated. Bought a different pair that had brightness and contrast control Much better but I have only tried 2 at this time. There may be something better.
  2. your range is limited by the futaba radio about 1 mile I think
  3. we split the signal from the Rx one to the goggles and one goes to a JVC GR-D7. The only problem I have is pushing the record button enough times to start the recording here is one example revver
  4. May I ask what the device is that is displaying flight data? also where one can be bought? Thanks 3R
  5. Hi Am very new to all this so excuse my dumbness I did buy a FPV system which had a 500mw Tx . an 8 channel Rx with battery, a 8Dbi patch antenna and a 1/3 CCD KPC 700CB camera All this for under 375.00 Then I bought goggles for 349.00 that did not work that great because they did not have brightness or contras controls. But then did find another set that did and they work great. Range of this system is beyond my fear point which is close to half mile. As I have never gone more than 300 yards the old way. Please help me understand what your set up will do. Something different or the same? Thanks 3R PS please spell out things like FPV
  6. not sure I understand. What is PVA? Are these Goggles? Thanks 3R
  7. I was able to get my hands on a set of Goggles called Cyberman model is GVD510. These are much better. Is there a better model? They have a brightness and contrast adjustments. We are now able to see a brighter clearer picture. Almost as good as what the camcorder records. My suggestions is to stay away from goggles that do not have brightness and contrast controls. Before giving up on the i Theater goggles I bought an amplifier to see if it would help. The rx output went to the amp and it split to goggles and camcorder. It did improve the image just a little bit on the goggles.
  8. I have seen smaller TV sets at 2M that have bigger image than 80 inch goggles clams at 1 m. It looks more like 24 inch TV at 6 feet to me But this is good enough to fly with.
  9. The ones I have are high resolution The problem is there is no brightness or contrast adjustment. I know some others that have this feature. As I said before the ones I have work great on an Ipod or DVD player. They just suck on the video out put of the down link receiver But the camcorder works just fine on the down link receiver. Tomorrow I make a call to i Thearter
  10. I can only tell you about what i have and cannot compare to other models. I have the i Theater HR These are high Res and work with i pod and such. The color over all is dark and is off on the blue side. contrast is too harsh with out good borders. Not sure what is causing the problem but I think it must be with a mis match between Goggles and Rx Sorry I do not know who made the Rx. But Rx works with Camcorder just fine. I am working on this problem and will know soon where the mis match is.
  11. I do have a multi meter but not sure how to Measure R of the goggles as it has several pins. Not sure which ones to use and worried that I may fry something if I get the wrong ones.
  12. I bought the the i Theater HR for 349.00 and they do not work very good with the Rx that I have. the Rx and my video camcorder work just fine and the i Theater goggles work just fine with my vcr and dvd devices. I am still trying to find out why.
  13. the amplifier helped just a little bit about one shade lighter. so I am not sure if I have a matching problem with the Receiver and Goggles. Which I think is the case. I have the chance to test with another set of goggles that work great. It is just going to take a day or two for us to meet up.
  14. Hi I thought that would be the case. I just bought an amplifier with gain control. Will let you know what happens. It has one video input with 7 out runs on 12V Thanks 3R
