Attention: RC-CAM.com will be closing down August 2021.

The RC-Cam.com forum was the very first online community dedicated to the advancement of wireless video cameras on radio controlled (R/C) models. This is now called "FPV" (First Person View). We are proud of the contributions that our members have made to the FPV hobby.

We've seen significant changes over the last twenty years. Initially there were a lot of eager R/C hobbyist that built their own video systems. Allowing these creative individuals to share their work was the purpose of this site. Now the FPV market is flooded with low cost systems; Sadly DiY FPV video projects are now rarely discussed.

RC-CAM.com (main site and forum) will be closing down August 2021. This was announced several months ago (March 2021) to allow our members ample time to download any information that is important to them. After the site is shutdown the information will no longer be available here.

We appreciate every member's involvement with advancing the FPV hobby. It is indeed sad to say goodbye to all our online friends. Be safe and stay healthy.

  1. Hi there. Was just wondering if you had a chance to try out the sunshade or new lens idea. Thanks Dee
  2. Hi all. I had thought of something close to these last two ideas, but wasn't sure what effect having part of the antenna inside the housing would do to signal strength. Would it be negligible? Thanks Dee
  3. Hi all. I'm about to build a waterproof housing for my camera/Tx assembly, but have hit a road block. I've build several waterproof housings for 35mm and video cameras, but nothing wireless...what do I do with the antenna? Anyone have any ideas on how to externally mount (outside the housing) the antenna and then wire it to the Tx? Any wires can run through cable glands (keeps water out) but I've heard adding wire between Tx and antenna causes a drop in signal. Any ideas on this would be greatly appreciated. Dee
  4. Hi again. Interesting idea about using the sun shade on the camera. Be sure to let us know how it went. Dee
  5. Hi there. I see from your last photo posted that you are currently using the camera that came with the system. Is the video quality garbage as is the case with X10's or is it at least half decent? Thanks much Dee
  6. Hi all. Was wondering if any of you had checked out either of these baby cams as a possible hack for on-board video? Just curious of what people thought of these...can you hack in new antennas easily...picture quality....range....etc?
