Co-Pilot Question

Recommended Posts

I want to use the FMA CoPilot just for single axis leveling. Dose anyone know if I can connect just 2 sensors instead of all 4 so I can save weight and space ? or maybe it needs all 4 to calibrate ?

All 4 sensors are housed in one unit, that connects to the controller. So I don't think you can just "plug in" 2 of the sensors. However, it should be as simple as just running one servo through the controller, and the other servo (axis you do NOT want controlled) run straight to the receiver.

I was thinking maybe I could use the Z sensor only pluged in to work as an x or y sensor ?

Just remove the sensor's plastic case, add some adhesive to the thermopiles, and place the PCB assy in clear heat-shrink. That will substantially reduce the weight of the sensor array to the point it will probably be a don't-care issue.
