what's the biggest distance for a wireless cam?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I am looking to build a VR RC helicopter

I have a few questions

Can you tell me what is the distance that a wireless colour cam can cover while being sent to video goggles and using head tracking?

Also do you know how long a RC electric helicopter can stay in the air for?

Also what is the maximum altitude it can fly?

The maximum speed for an electric helicopter and petrol helicopter?

Any help much appreciated

Many thanks

I don`t think you will find someone who will help you. Long distance flight is very risky and we will not encourage someone who don`t have any experience to try this with an helicopter. Start with a planes, and short distance.

To answer your first question, American was able to control sojourner on mars so this is the max. for now...

Hi Vrflyer

Many thanks for your reply

Okay i am going to make a start on a basic RC airplane, i am thinking of getting the easystar

I want to get these goggles http://www.paramountzone.com/virtualvisionglasses.htm

It does not come with a built in gyroscopic head tracker, so i would need to get one.

How many miles is the longest coverage transmitter/reciever and colour wireless cam for public use without needing a radio license?

Do you think you can please list for me the parts, prices, and websites where i can order all these componets from so i can start building this RC airplane.

I ask this of you as you have built several FPV planes and know what your talking about from your experience in RC.

Much appreciated

Many thanks
