What would be the best lens?

Recommended Posts

My KT&C KPC-650CH camera has a 4 mm lens as standard.

There are different lenses 4, 6, 8 and 12 mm

Which one will be best for FPV flying?

Do you know the FOV equivalence? It depends on the camera's sensor size.

I usually use 70°.

I like my 2.8 mm in 1/3 CCD sensor.

Is like 97º FOV.

It is good to beginners like me. I see a wide angle view and dont to get lost in ther air. Good to use in places that never flight before. Be care, with this lens the things seem farther than reality.

Is good to CCD but not in CMOS becouse the sun appears in the image.

My camera has a 1/3" Super HAD EXview CCD.

I don't know how to calculate the FOV from this.

Anyone?

From a chart I have, 4mm on a 1/3'' is 62° FOV. 6mm is 45°, 8mm is 34°, 12mm is 23°.

For FPV, the use the 4mm one. That's not very wide, but will work too. It would be good to have the camera on a servo to help looking around.

Thank you wery much Kilrah!!

Nice to know about the different lenses.

You saved me a lot of money. I was thinking about buying 3-4 extra lenses, but now I can save the money for a OSD instead ;)
