CCD videocamera vs digital camera

Recommended Posts

I wonder how the video-out of a digital camera (eg. canon ixus) compares to a CCD videocamera such as the KX131.

It will depend on the digital camera, but many give surprisingly good video on their AV output. The downside is that their weight is much greater than the typical micro board camera like the KX131.

There are other little issues that can creep in there too. For example, some digital cameras will turn off after a few minutes, and some disable the video signal for several seconds when a digital picture is snapped. But, these issues can usually be accommodated when they are encountered.
