Another method for camera mounting

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

Here os another way to build a camera mounting with lower profile, more than typical 90 degrees of Pan, actually I got about 150 - 155 degrees on mine.

For the pivoting system, I used an old std size BB servo, I removed the bearing, and the main gear.

I drilled a housing for the bearing, in order to have it locked in the wood board.

Maybe it does not look beatiful, but it works great.

If anyone else has more pics about their mount for the camera, post it here, so we can gather ideas and improve more and more.

Here is another pic.

Take a good look, the servo is not align with the pivoting point, is off centered in order to obtain the most pan view as possible.

It fits perfect one my Easystar.

Now I have more room inside of the canopy, because I don't have the Pan servo going all thw way down inside.

With the proper links, you will not have plays at the horns.

Interesting. With the right placement of connections on the arms, etc, i could see this getting almost right up to 180 degree pans. Good job!

I take that back, you can get AT LEAST 180 degrees travel with this setup. :D

You got it right !!!

Plus, whatever degrees lenses you're using on the camera, will give you a great Pan.

Be careful, to not over swing the pivoting horn, otherwise when the servo comes back to the center position, it will turn the camera towards the back of the airplane :o

I hope my idea is useful.
