Damaged mpeg

Recommended Posts

I have some mpeg files on my pc that have become damaged and no longer play propperly. The files were created in Pinnical Studio using the DV video encoder and used to play perfectly. Dose anyone know of any good software for reairing the files ? Any idea what has happend to them ?

Thanks, Terry

The extensions Pinnical adds dont add up, they are mpeg even though I use the DV encoder. There is a whole load of codecs it uses including DivX and Mpeg-4 which it adds an AVI extension to.

Strange, DV isn't supposed to go into an MPEG file...

Maybe try VirtualDub-MPEG2.

This is odd, I checked the files today and they now play fine. I have done nothing to them but now they play all the way through. Any idea what could have caused that ?

I find that if the editor i ripped with is still running, and then i play the video it screws up. Close the editor and the video is nice and clean.

Pretty odd. Then again, i really need to re-install windows.
