USB Camera Trigger?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone out there have any idea what the trigger signal is to fire the shutter on my Canon A640 via the USB connection?

I figure there might have to be a simple circuit to send the trigger, or it might just be a specific voltage used to release the shutter.

I know it is possible because there are a couple of companies selling them (Spartan-RC, and Blip) but they are pretty pricey, and have extra features like time lapse. I just want a simple trigger so that I can fire the shutter with out using a servo to press the button.

Thanks,

Andy

USB is very complex. If your camera supports the Canon RC-1 or WL-DC100 remote signal protocol, then you can use the inexpensive Prism IR switch from hexpertsystems.com
