Need a RX trigger for a Nitrous system

Recommended Posts

I am adding a 3rd channel TX/RX to a previously 2 channel system in hopes that I will be able to trigger the nitrous oxide hit via the third channel to the engine - yes I am installing nitrous on an RC.

I have the final trigger to 9V output figured out via a simple "relay", however I need a constant 5V on/off output from the 3 channel RX servo output for the relay to work.

I thought the http://www.rc-cam.com/combat2.htm might work, however there has to be a simpler solution. Any ideas?

Btw, you want to be very careful with how long/how much nitrous you inject into your air intake. I've seen more than a few pistons burnt through from cars using nitrous. The burn temperature increases very rapidly inside the engine, so much so that it doesn't really register on any temp monitoring you have on board. The increased temp burns straight through the piston just as when you have it super super lean.

If possible, look at a way to increase your fuel flow as well.
