oxxyfx 0 Report post Posted November 26, 2007 Hello, the datasheet for the AWM63x calls for a 470uF bypass capacitor. This is rather large in value and in volume as well. Does this have to be a low-ESR and is HF decoupling with a ceramic multilayer needed? Thank you, Ox.
ThomasScherrer 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2007 if you use a low voltage alu type 6-10V it is not that big, I have also tried to use 220uF and 330uF also, with ok results, I have also tried to use 3-6V tantalum types, they are expensive but really small. I suggest you try it out and see what happens :-)
oxxyfx 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2007 Thanks Thomas. I use a 6.3V 470uF regular (I guess that's aluminium) elco and it works well. I was just wondering if there are any other specifications required. I also asked Airwave - and they said the same, there is no special requirements for this condenser.
