Motor current measuring

Recommended Posts

Please can you help me with this problem. I need measuring current of the RC engine. I use use shunt resistor and measure the voltage with PIC 16F88 AD (10bit). But the current is not fixed . The current value jump from 0 to max . How can I get fixed current value ?

Thanks

The current will constantly change to some degree. You need to average your current readings over a few milliseconds unless your measuring device is fast enough to handle instantaneous current readings. It is possible that your motor runs at max in your application. However you haven't provided enough data as to your setup, equipment, and parameters to really analyze what's happening.

Low pass filtering with a resistor and capacitor would smooth the result.
