Goof Patch Mounting

Recommended Posts

I have two goof patches with Airwave receivers mounted directly behind them. The receivers are fixed to a wooden board by double sided tape. All in all not very clever as the connectors take all the weight of the patches.

I would like to make a bracket mount to link the receiver and the goof patch solidly, and then screw the bracket to the board. Can I solder a bracket to the back of the goof patch without upsetting its performance? What should I not be doing when designing a mounting arrangement? (or is that an impossible to answer question?).

regards Peter

My suggestion: bond the backside of the GP Patch to some plywood and use it as a mounting backboard. Or bond some wood stringers on the backside to hold the antenna to the receiver.
