Question on the GPP

Recommended Posts

Hello,

How did you come up with .200 for the element spacing on the 2.4ghz GPP?

When I built my 1.2ghz GPP, I doubled it to .400, and although it seems to test well on the ground, I expect that it is a rather critical dimension.

If I had a formula for element spacing/frequency, I bet I could tweak it a little.

Thanks in advance,

Joe Petro

The dielectric spacing determines the bandwidth. For a 2.4Ghs design, the given spacing is as far as I would push it. Beyond that you will get hit with losses.

At 1.2Ghz, you would double the dielectric spacing. Note: At 1.2Ghz, EVERY dimension is 2X.
