Can I use a 1.2-1.4GHz antenna?

I just got a 1.2-1.4GHz antenna and I wonder if I can modify it to use it for my 2.4GHz system?

Also, my Graupner radio (tx )has messed up and I need to buy a new one. Which radio do you recomend when range is the main issue?

The main contributor to range is the Rx's design. Not all are created equal. Stick with a name brand and check around to see if the model you are interested in has had any reported issues. For after-market Rx's, both Berg and FMA have good reputations.
