SMA/MCX Crimpers?

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I'm in need of inexspensive crimpers for SMA and MCX connectors and also a part number for small, flexible 50 ohm cable to be used between them. Does anyone know a source for any of these? Is there another way of connecting the wire other than crimping? I need to make sure that I have a good, reliable connection.

Thanks,

Jim

You'll need the proper crimpers. The commercial versions, with the proper dies, cost a couple hundred dollars (or more). I found a Tawain import a few years ago that was very affordable. It is kind of like the " VTFBNC" shown here:

Thanks again Mr. Rc-Cam! Looks like what I need. Do you know if the one like the # VTFBNC at Maine Electronics will work with the MCX connectors as well? I have an ancient video TX board from SuperCircuits and need the crimper for it. Funny how large that old board is compared to the new boards!

Thanks again,

Jim
