How do I go about this ? (Real Beginner)

Hi Guys,

Sat here bored and with winter coming on I was thinking of something new to do, I know nothing of electronics, but thinking of the Mars Rover Gave me this Idea.

For a couple of Years I have had a Nikko High Octane sat on top of the wardrobe.

With Wireless Lan Cards and Wireless Cameras coming cheaper and cheaper and the High Octane having a wide Cockpit.

I wonder how I could drive one of these wireless cars with my Laptop and viewing my direction by wireless video on the Laptop.

Wireless steered Car.

Anybody any ideas how I could get this to work (products etc)

This will assist me to understand how to build a Mars Rover at a later date.
