Stand-alone LVC

Recommended Posts

I'm looking for a stand-alone LVC circuit.

Sometimes I need to test or evaluate batteries by discharging through a resistive load at X-Amps and it would be very useful to have an adjustable LVC so I could run the battery down to the safe cutoff without having to watchdog it.

Any ideas or pointers for an LVC?

Yes, very easy to do. I built some a few years back for my r/c racing car club guys. I used an LM393N voltage comparitor chip and a zener diode as the voltage referance. The circit was powered by the batt being discharged and a relay released at the preset voltage disconecting the whole thing.
