Cheap APRS TX+RX

Recommended Posts

If you'll also be running a wireless video tx then you can just use it's audio channel.

If you are simply looking for a way to transmit position information, then data modems would be a more straight forward approach. The only snag with data modems is they transmit raw data which isn't in the APRS format. This could impact the ground software you select.

Regards,

Bill

my video channel has terrible audio, so crackly the signal loses integrity at about 50% of video range

data modems VERY expensive for 3km+ range

I allready have the tinytrack anyway...

Can anyone suggest an inexpensive way of transmitting APRS audio signals to about 5 miles free air? Walkie talkies don't have the fidelity to use
