PIC Language Choice

Recommended Posts

Out of curiosity, are most of you programming in a high level language and compiling your PIC code or are you writing in native assembly?

If you're using a high level language, what is your choice?

The most common choice with hobbyists is PIC Basic Pro. I suggest you use what you feel most comfortable with.

Whatever you do, take the time to understand the firmware at the assy language level. Sometimes you have to look at the native code to unravel tough problems. For example, I do mostly C code. But, I often spend time looking at the assy output to tweak/fix badly implemented compiler generated code.
