Mr.RC-Cam 123 Report post Posted May 22, 2005 Honeywell has introduced a line of *digital* pressure sensors. They are temperature compensated, have 2% accuracy, and a little better than 11-bits of resolution. The interface is serial (I2C). Cost is $30 to $40 per sensor, which makes it about 2X as much as the typical analog solutions. But, integration into a altimeter or airspeed indicator project would be very easy, so it is worth considering. http://content.honeywell.com/sensing/prodi...8095_4_en_w.pdf
Terry 5 Report post Posted May 22, 2005 Would you exspect it to also give greater accuracy ? I would have a go at an altitude hold using it but I dont know how to read 12C with a PIC. Is there anywhere I can find the routine for this ? Terry
Kilrah 2 Report post Posted May 22, 2005 Quite a number of PICs have an integrated I2C hardware communications port. Which one would you be using? Microchip should certainly also have an application note for those which don't have the hardware.
