GPS Navigation calculations

Hi,

Building a new AP ship with GPS. I decided to purchase a Lessan IQ module. Without thinking it all through, I ordered it, and of course it does not support the uploading of waypoints.

Is it difficult to calculate your own 'course to stear' to a waypoint? I'm using BX24's and PIC's. I can't see to find any info on the web regarding this.

Just wondering if I'm better to use somthing like a stripped down Geko instead where I can simply upload waypoints and stear the course it output's via nmea or if I can do this myself via the BX24.

If anyone has any pointers on how to calculate courses to stear etc, please let me know.

If find any waypoint specific routines then I would be interested in them too.

I've been to that site in the past. There is more to this than meets the eye. So, I'm interested in decent source code (any high level language) for at least two waypoints on an embedded GPS app. That would save days of wheel re-invention.

I've not found anything that does not use the GPS itself for it's heading yet, so am going to have a go at writting this myself.

I'll let you know if I get anywhere.
