Frequencies? Which one?

Recommended Posts

I am about to start assembleing an RC airborne Color Video System. I have been flying RC since 1958 and sometimes have experienced "crosstalk" with RC controllers ( as you guys call them).

I am looking at xmitters that broadcast on the 434 MHz, 2.4 MHz aand 900 MHz frequencies. I have read good reports for all of them.

I am wondering about the 2ed or3rd harmonic causing aircraft problems? Tell me I am wrong and to go ahead with any of these freq.

Are there drawbacks with any of these frequincies?

Most of us use 2.4ghz so life will be more simple if you go for that. You will have far more choice of equipment and proves to work well.

There have been several reports of R/C system interference from the 434Mhz ATV systems. Filtering may be required: http://www.northcountryradio.com/Articles/rcfltr.htm

There have been a small number of reports of interference in some 900Mhz installations. In my opinion, the 2.4Ghz systems are the least likely to cause interference problems. But, the overall installation techniques are important, regardless of the freq use.
