HELP! BWAV connection help needed

Recommended Posts

I have trouble connecting my 5V BWAV transmitter to my 12V camera, the camera has 4 connections and the tx only 3

In the test setup I use (temporary) separate batteries, but I'm getting confused with the 2nd ground wire from the camera

I tried to leave #4 disconnected but as expected it didn't work

Camera connections:

1)red +12V

2)black -12V

3)white video

4)black video ground (?? goes to where ??)

tx has only 3 wires;

red + 5V

black - 5V

yellow - video

Thanks in advance.

GJ

Join all the blacks together, white to yellow but you still need both 5v and 12v supplies.

It's simple when you know it.. .. Thanks a lot Terry !, It works now.

On the subject of wiring, what is generally used for the cam on the models when the camera is far from battery/tx, let's say on the tail?. [heavy] shielded cable?

I planned to use [twisted] servo lead, would that add noise to video or is it ok ?

If possible I want to mount the camera on the tail for example, and keep the rest in front of the CG.....

Ive got a 100m unshielded cable on my front door cctv camera so I would go for the servo lead unless you get a problem.

I've used flat servo cable without problems up to 1.5m. Not tested more.
